Nameplate jewelry can’t be traced back to a single origin. Its history spans nearly two centuries, from Victorian-era Jewish brooches, to Hawai’ian name bracelets, to most recently and perhaps notably, the roots of hip-hop culture in America. Now, for the first time ever, this staple of pride and individuality comes to eyewear.
Constructed from all-black Italian bio-acetate, the Eye_D collection boasts a classic 1940’s silhouette with gold wiring and detailing. Two fully customizable 14-karat plated gold script nameplates come affixed to each arm. The Eye_D Collection comes in two sizes, regular and wide, to fit most face types. Each pair of eyewear is made to order, hand-finished in New York City or Los Angeles, with a first limited edition run of only 200 pieces per size.
The Eye_D collection combines anonymity and identity.
5% of the Eye_D collections profits will be donated to the Red Hook Initiative who nurtures young people in Red Hook to be inspired, resilient, and healthy.
This Eye_D collection is currently pre-order and will ship on December 18th, 2021 for Christmas arrival in The United States.
